The Art of Letting Go


Ho’o- means to make, cause or bring about.
pono- means correct, right, in perfect order.
ponopono- means in order, cared for, attended to.

Did you ever hear the story of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, the therapist who cured criminally insane patients from a distance using the Ho’oponopono technique?

According to Ho’oponopono, all you see, hear, and live, you feel inside your mind. You only imagine it to be something that happens outside, and because of that, you are then absolved of any responsibility over that act. The truth is, it is quite the opposite: you are fully responsible for everything you think!

Please note that, saying it is your responsibility doesn’t make it your fault. What I mean is that you are responsible for the inner healing so you can heal what appears in your life as being a problem.

There are a few simple steps to practice the art of forgiveness, Ho’oponopono, and the best of all, you don’t need a partner and can do it on your own, keeping your deepest secrets for yourself.

All you have to do is repeat the words out loud, since the magic happens when you start allowing yourself to truly feel it.

1: Repentance – I’M SORRY
Take responsibility for what is inside, your beliefs, your memories, your actions, even if all seems to be caused by an outside source. Once you allow yourself to get in touch with you inner guided power, you will start the cleansing process.

2: Ask Forgiveness – PLEASE FORGIVE ME
Think of overall forgiveness if you don’t want to target a specific event. You don’t necessarily need to focus on someone or a specific event if you don’t want to. Just allow yourself to be humble and ask to forgive and be forgiven.

3: Be Grateful – THANK YOU
Being grateful enriches the soul, and automatically brings positive energy into your body. Think of everything you are grateful for: your family, your friends, your home, abundance, health, the Divine Creator… Just keep thinking about all and saying “THANK YOU”.

4: Feel the Love – I LOVE YOU
Love is the most powerful feeling in the world, so why not tune this power a volume up and maybe even blast it? Repeat the word and think about everything you love, yourself, your home, your children, your life… Feel it in your heart and fill it up with love!
